Garment Care

Pashmina is one of the finest natural fibres in the world and whilst this wonderfully delicate fibre is luxurious to wear it does require a little more care and attention than other fibres.

We recommend that you follow the care instructions below and hope you will enjoy your purchase or gift that you have lovingly chosen for many, many years. Your Pashmina can last a lifetime with proper care an attention.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

•Hand-woven Pashmina should be professionally DRY-CLEANED by a reputable Company who have expertise in cleaning cashmere and pashmina garments. You may find that after using your pashmina for the first few times you may find small balls of fibre forming on the surface. This is natural as these small balls or ‘pills’ are caused by some of the loose fibre tangling together as areas are rubbed together during wear. These can be easily removed by hand and will not affect the quality of your garment. The more your garment is used the softer it will feel. Please avoid rough or jagged edges as these can damage your fine and luxurious garment.
•To press your Pashmina, always use a piece of cloth and press on low heat.
•When not in use, clean and store garments in an uncrowded garment bag, or wrapped in clean acid–free white tissue paper in a cool, dry place; the addition of cedar or moth balls or spray will help protect garments from moths.  An ECO and natural alternative are Lavender or Herb sachets; it keeps them fresh and acts as a moth repellent for the garments.

It is essential that all Pashminas are thoroughly cleaned before storing, as any hint of foodstuffs will attract unwanted visitors (moths) as they are quite partial to proteins found in foodstuffs.
